Each panel of this mezzotint print was printed from the same copper plate. The plate was roughened with fine burs, then burnished and scraped after each panel was printed to reveal the image in the following panel, which ultimately destroyed the plate and eliminated the ability to print any future editions.
This one-plate mezzotint has five prints in the edition.
